Pam Heads Uphill

Today, a friend of ElytoEverest, Pam Lynch, starts off on her own Everest adventure. A truly inspiring lady, we wish Pam all the very best for the next few weeks, and look forward to hearing of her adventures when she returns.

Pam’s lovely blog can be found at http://travellingbag.wordpress.com

Like ourselves, Pam is also doing the trek for a good cause. Her chosen charity is “Because I am a girl”. If you would like to donate to this charity, please see http://fundraise.plan.org.au/travellingbag

Have a great time Pam, and come home safely.

Love

Tim and Keith

Football Shirts For Nepal

In November 2013, following Tim and Keith’s trek to Everest Base Camp and Kala Pathar, they will be spending a week with a family in the Kathmandu Valley, teaching at a local school. One of the things that they would like to do would be to take a number of football shirts for the local children.

As keen Norwich City fans, Tim and Keith have more than their fair share of old kits to give away, but this led to them thinking if maybe other Canary fans, and indeed fans of other teams might like to donate their old unused football shirts for children in Nepal.

If so, they would love to hear from you. Please contact Keith at k.gallois@btinternet.com for details.

Thanks

Tim and Keith

Witchford’s Greatest Ever Male Waxing Party Raises £3612 for Arthur Rank

Friday March 22nd, at the Village Inn, set in the Cambridgeshire village of Witchford, 15 very brave men, and 3 arguably much braver beauty therapists, engaged in a gruelling evening of male waxing.

The gentlemen, Roger Broker, Stephen Broker, Jimmy Carter, Charlie Coupland, Rob Finch, Keith Gallois, Nick Holdsworth, Mathew McClagish,Ed Richardson, Martin Skilbeck, Tim Titmarsh, Mike Vincent, Andy Watkins, Craig West, James Williamson in batches of three at a time, took to the waxing couch and endured, yes that is the word, endured the type of terror that apparently many ladies actually pay for every few weeks.

In a sea of hair and fluff, beauty therapists Kate Lacey, Briony Pilling and Natalie Rayner slowly, surely and painfully (actually it did’t hurt – honest) made each of the guys as smooth a babies bottom.

Egged on by compere Ray Haddow, a packed pub roarer their approval at each ouch and every scream. It was a fantastic evening, raising money for a very great cause.

Which brings us on to the most important bit. The supporters of these ladies and gentlemen very very kindly put their hands in their pockets and sponsored the event to a massive total of £3612 . All of this money will be used by the Arthur Rank charity to continue to do excellent work at their wonderful Cambridge based hospice.
